The pageant saw 51 of the most beautiful young women in the United States, one from each of the 50 states and one from the District of Columbia, competing to win the coveted title of Miss USA and also the Diamond Nexus tiara. They competed in three categories, swimming suit, evening gown, and also in their ability to answer tough interview questions. At the end of the three-hour-long show, only one young lady remained, the one who earned the highest cumulative scores, and got to be crowned Miss USA 2014.
